Breweries from Luxembourg to Louisiana sent in more than 6,000 beers representing over 140 different styles for the 2020 U.S. Open Beer Championship. This competition is the only one to include beers from professional breweries and beers from gold medal winners from the National AHA Homebrew Competition. The U.S. Open Beer Championship is one of the top 3 beer competitions worldwide. This year, Oktoberfest won a Gold medal in the Vienna Lager category.
Since 2016, Crooked Lane has produced this delicious amber Vienna Lager, and it has become one of our customers' favorite beers. While the Oktoberfest season is a perfect excuse to brew this beer, it's been a perennial favorite.
"We first brewed our Vienna Lager a month into our brewery operation," recalls Brewmaster Teresa Psuty. "We originally called it Klasse, a German idiom for Awesome! Later on we renamed it Oktoberfest, to help more of our retailers get a feel for what this beer is about, however it still adheres to the Vienna Lager style. Now, it's a seasonal beer that everyone looks forward to. We gear up for it every year in a big way!"
For Crooked Lane, Oktoberfest isn't just a holiday or a week or two in September... it's an ethos, a way of life in beer. Keeping beers true to style and crafted with the highest quality is our goal, our passion, and our constant obsession.
